My book – Dreaming of Ireland – A Journal of Discovery Through Music, Art, and Language – is a daily account of my adventures during a three month trip to Ireland. My experience there was defined by the music I played on my hammered dulcimer in nursing homes, schools, and pubs – by the photographs and watercolors in which I captured the Irish landscape, flowers, and birds – and by the joy of learning Gaelic words. The book reproduces my photographs and paintings, includes a CD of my dulcimer music, and recounts my own learning and growth as I travelled the Irish countryside.
